It’s time for personalized care.

Meet Michelle.

Hi, I’m Michelle, founder of Moms in Motion PT. I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus. I am saved by grace, forgiven, and free from the bondage of sin. I am married to an amazing man and mom to two sweet girls. I believe that Moms in Motion PT is where God has called me to serve, and I take my mission seriously. I sincerely care about your body and health and want to help you reach your goals. I am an athlete, and I became passionate about helping other moms after rehabbing my body after the birth of my first daughter.

Getting back into exercise after having a baby is really hard! I want to help you get your body back after having a baby - not in a bounce back type of way - but to experience the freedom when you are no longer leaking, to feel confident in your body when your ab separation is gone, to stop questioning what exercises you should or shouldn’t do. I love helping women stay active throughout pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and all walks of life!

I had quite a different birth experience with my second daughter because I knew so much more about birth and postpartum recovery. I took a much more comprehensive childbirth education class (shoutout to Bright Earth Doulas) and had a lot more knowledge about the process of birth. I felt more empowered to make decisions during labor and pushed my baby out in the position where I felt most comfortable at the time - hands and knees. I was not listening to the “coaching” of the nurses, but listened to my own body instead. I want you to feel this kind of power when you tune into your own body and make decisions that feel aligned for you.

I recognize the large gap in care for postpartum women in our healthcare system. When I had my first daughter, my only follow up visit was a phone call at 6 weeks. This is not okay! I seek to fill this gap in care by providing in-home physical therapy for busy moms. Getting out of the house when you have kids can be tough, so I want to take that roadblock out of the equation. My goal is to determine the root cause of pain and dysfunction and not just treat symptoms. I use a variety of manual therapy (hands on) techniques and create specific exercise programs for each of my patients.

I grew up in rural Iowa but have lived in the Twin Cities for almost 10 years. I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University. I am a runner and love staying active. I have run a handful of marathons and completed several triathlons. I love to travel to new places with my husband and daughters. Together, we enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, and gardening. I also love spending time with our mini golden doodle! My husband and I lead a small group and enjoy serving at our church. In my free time I like to experiment in the kitchen with new recipes and spend time with family and friends.

Meet Carey.

Hi, I’m Carey and I have such a passion for helping people with pelvic health concerns because I know how much of a difference we can make in peoples’ lives! After I saw my first pelvic health patient 18 years ago, I never looked back. I knew instantly this is where I wanted to take my career. Over time, as I continued to treat in the field of pelvic health, I noticed a large hole in our healthcare system in helping women (and men) treat and manage pelvic health conditions. The more people I saw, the more holes I founds and the more I sought to learn about how to manage these conditions. This led me to eventually treat all conditions related to pelvic health including bowel and bladder issues, pelvic pain, pain with penetration, pregnancy and postpartum, issues associated with menopause, as well as issues related to men’s pelvic health.

I love the ability to connect with patients on a much deeper level and empower women to take back their bodies. Peeing your pants does not have to be a result of having babies! These can be embarrassing topics to talk about, but they are very common. I seek to provide a safe space for patients to talk about and treat these conditions. I want women to know that they have a provider that will take the time to listen and work with them on achieving their goals, no matter how big or small those goals might be.

I love treating pregnant and postpartum women at any stage and for any conditions or concerns they have. Remember, it is never too late, even if you are many years postpartum! I love treating joint pain, Diastasis recti (ab separation), perineal or vaginal pain post-delivery, and scar tissue pain post-cesarean delivery. I also enjoy treating patients who are planning on becoming pregnant and are looking to prepare their body for pregnancy!

I am a mother of 2 active children, a 12 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. I love watching my children’s sports as well as coaching my daughter’s softball team. I love spending time with my extended family, traveling, cooking, running, and date nights with my husband as often as possible! I also stay busy with our two golden retrievers and our cat!
